This section contains current general information about the Puente Project in short write-ups about site and statewide or regional events. We include statewide and local program news, as well as links and information regarding general educational news that impact Puente. We also include news and awards about Puente students, staff, and team members, such as honors and awards received and staff changes.
News is also included from educational conferences Puente staff attend, as well as reports about some of Puente's annual professional trainings. The section is also for updates from sites, such as Puente events on campuses, student projects, and anniversaries as a Puente partner site. We include quotes about the program and its impact on students, families, team members, and education in general.
Numerous Puente students receive scholarships or other honors, and they are often engaged in noteworthy projects. Team member and staff achievements and undertakings are widespread, too. When staff changes occur, they are noted here. In this section we provide limited space for original writing by Puentistas-students, team members, and staff.
We also offer a forum for original writings by students and team members and will include quotes about Puente from students, team members, parents, educators, and legislators.
In the Archives section you will find articles that have been written about Puente. During its 25-year history, Puente has been the subject of research, has been nationally acknowledged, and has appeared in newspaper articles.
Puente's impact extends well beyond the classroom Puente inspires and trains the current Latino workforce to lead their own communities past their current economic and social condition.
